The potential

In 2023, Cambodia’s beer market has seen remarkable growth, with forecasted revenues amounting to an impressive US$1,360.00 million. With an expected annual growth rate of 8.86% (CAGR 2023-2027), the industry is on a trajectory of continuous expansion. In comparison to global figures, China dominates with revenues reaching US$125.60 billion in the same year.

As a testament to Cambodia’s dynamic potential, per-person revenues in 2023 are estimated at US$78.21, showcasing a thriving consumer base. Looking ahead to 2027, 54% of spending and 39% of volume consumption in the Beer market will be attributed to out-of-home consumption, highlighting the popularity of bars and restaurants.

The projected volume in the Beer market is set to reach an impressive 779.80 million liters by 2027, indicating a significant volume growth of 6.4% in 2024. This growth is fueled by the country’s enthusiastic beer consumers, with an expected average volume per person of 35.72 liters in 2023.

With such promising figures and a flourishing market landscape, Cambodia’s beer industry offers immense opportunities for growth and success. As investors and brewers look to capitalise on this remarkable potential, Cambodia emerges as an exciting destination for the global beer market.

Ziemann Holvrieka in Cambodia: Another Success Story

In Cambodia, we have achieved remarkable milestones, solidifying our position as a key player in the global brewing arena. In 2011, we equipped the first brewery in Cambodia with a turnkey brewery.  The customer: Khmer Brewery in Phnom Penh.

Inter Mattrid

The contract for the development of a turnkey brewery with a packaging line was signed in 2010. At that time, the investor was still a newcomer to the Cambodian beer market.

Our partnership with Hanuman Beverages further exemplified our dedication to innovation, luxury, and Feng Shui principles. The turnkey project began years after Khmer Brewery. And this customer was also a newcomer to the beer market.

Shortly after the order from Hanuman, another order was received for a turnkey brewery: Vattanac. Vattanac did not have its own production facility until then, which is now the case, equipped with state-of-the-art Ziemann Holvrieka equipment.
Additionally, we celebrate our third brewery project in a row with Inter-Mattrid Beverage, slated to produce renowned Mattrid beer in Phnom Penh, commencing January 2022.

Thanks to our expertise and reputation, we have successfully taken on the responsibility for not one, but three new brewery projects in a relatively short period. This further demonstrates the justified confidence our clients place in our experience and expertise.

At Ziemann Holvrieka, we excel in precisely coordinating every step and supervising a workforce of more than 1,000 individuals. Our experience and expertise ensure seamless collaboration and efficient progress throughout the project and extends to modernizations and expansions of existing brewery plants, optimizing output and capacity.
