They are<br>disclosing their carbon footprint and showing how they intend to specifically reduce<br>their emissions. Ziemann Holvrieka is now using a new tool to record environmentally<br>relevant data. Plant operators in breweries can use it to document the carbon footprint<br>of the tanks they use.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Determine CO\u2082 emissions along the supply chain precisely and comprehensibly? The carbon<br>footprint is an important indicator for making the environmental impact of a product or<br>process measurable and transparent. Ziemann Holvrieka is now using a new tool to record<br>environmentally relevant key figures for tanks used in breweries. \u201cWe want to support our<br>customers in identifying emissions, achieving their net zero targets in the supply chain and<br>communicating this,\u201d says Rebecca Hooper. She is Group Sustainability Manager at CIMC<br>Liquid Process Technologies (CLPT), the holding organisation to which Ziemann Holvrieka<br>also belongs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tool records the data in detail &#8211; from the CO\u2082 footprint of the raw material supplied and<br>the emissions generated during production to the transport of the tanks to the end customer.<br>The comprehensive analysis enables consistent calculation, allowing Ziemann Holvrieka to<br>subsequently provide the values in the form of a certificate. Companies can use this proof for<br>sustainability audits, for instance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere are hardly any comparable solutions on the market at the moment,\u201d says Rebecca<br>Hooper. \u201cWe already have solutions to quantify the energy, water, waste and CO\u2082 savings for<br>our new products and to calculate the CO\u2082 footprint for complete systems.\u201d Her team is<br>currently looking for ways to use the new tool for other CLPT products such as customised<br>skids and copper stills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis new tank tool fits in very well with our sustainability strategy, which we\u2019re driving<br>forward with many ideas, technologies and products that deliver measurable benefits,\u201c adds<br>Klaus Gehrig, CEO at Ziemann Holvrieka. \u201cOur aim is to achieve half of our turnover with<br>CO\u2082-reducing solutions by 2030 \u2013 and we want to reach 100 percent by 2040.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-can-the-new-tool-do\">What can the new tool do?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Records data such as material usage (e.g. stainless steel), energy consumption and transport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allows consistent CO\u2082 calculations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creates certificates for customised tanks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Certificate for CO\u2082 footprint of tanks Companies increasingly have a responsibility to operate sustainably.
